Glenrothes Whisky Maker's Cut (75cl, 48.8%)

Glenrothes Whisky Maker's Cut is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky with no age statement, bottled at 48.8% in a 750ml bottle. It is matured only in first-fill sherry-seasoned oak casks. The spirit is twice distilled in copper pot stills, and only the hearts cut, less than 20% of the distillate, is kept. The Master Whisky Maker chose the bottling strength to show the depth of flavour the casks give. The nose has orange, tangerine, blackberry jam, cinnamon and warm toffee. The palate is rich and creamy, with red fruits, orange marmalade, nutty toffee and nutmeg. The finish is long and warming, with orange peel and gentle spice.
