A 17 year old Speyside single malt from Glentauchers, distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2026 by Duncan Taylor in its Octave series. It is a single cask of 77 bottles, created for the 50th anniversary of Kirsch Import, at 53.5% ABV without chill-filtration or added colour.
The final maturation took place in Japanese Mizunara oak, in a small octave cask.
Light ripe fruit, honey, malt and vanilla lead the nose, with sandalwood and coconut. The palate is soft and rounded, with toffee, dried fruit, ginger and cedar. The finish is long, woody and spicy, with a subtle hint of incense.
