This is a Glentauchers single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in its cask strength range at 56.8%. It is a vatting of three refill sherry casks filled in 1998 and matured for 17 years.
The refill casks still gave the whisky a dark amber colour and plenty of sherry character. No colouring was added.
The nose is sherried, with hazelnuts and baked apple sprinkled with cinnamon and vanilla sugar. The palate is intense and sweet, with cloves, orange and dark chocolate.
