Gold Bar 889 Blend American Whiskey is a blend of whiskies sourced from distillers across the United States, bottled at 40% ABV. The mash bill is 88% corn, 9% rye and 3% barley.
The blend is finished in French oak wine barrels from Napa Valley, then blended and bottled at the Gold Bar distillery on Treasure Island in San Francisco, under master blender Montgomery Paulsen. The bottle is shaped like a gold bar.
The nose is burnt sugar and honeyed grain, opening to orchard fruit and red berries. The palate is bright and warming, soft and creamy, with red fruit, baking spice and a light note of wood smoke. The finish is smooth and clean, with lingering vanilla sweetness.
