Gold Bar Black Double Cask is a Texas straight bourbon, issued as the 820 Release. The mash bill is 80% Texas corn and 20% Oklahoma rye, distilled in triple copper pot stills with only the heart cut taken for the barrel.
The whiskey is aged for three to six years in new American oak barrels with a number 4 char, then finished in used, extra-charred French oak wine barrels from Napa Valley. It is non-chill filtered.
It is described as complex and balanced, with layers of smoke, spicy rye and creamy fruit.
