Gold Bar Double Cask is a straight bourbon bottled at 46% and non-chill filtered, in a 750ml bottle. It was made in collaboration with a Texas distillery and is blended and bottled in San Francisco.
The spirit is distilled in Texas from a mash of 80% Texas corn and 20% Oklahoma rye, triple-distilled in copper pot stills. It then spends three to six years in new American oak with a number 4 char, before a finish in former French oak wine barrels from Napa Valley.
The palate combines smoke, spicy rye and creamy fruit, with dark fruit and a rounded texture from the wine barrels.
