This is a 14 year old Linkwood single malt from Speyside, bottled by Gordon & Macphail in its Connoisseurs Choice range. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The nose opens with red apple, clove and ginger spice, then faint beeswax polish, sweet brown sugar, subtle orange peel and licorice.
On the palate, stewed apple mingles with raspberry and tart grapefruit, with dark chocolate and Brazil nut coming forward before black pepper. The finish is full, long and spicy, with lasting forest berries and oak.
