This is a 25-year-old Linkwood, a Speyside single malt from Gordon & MacPhail's Distillery Labels series, bottled at 43%. The series uses the original historical labels that the Elgin independent bottler licensed from the distilleries it has worked with. The whisky spent twenty-five years in Gordon & MacPhail's own refill sherry casks, a gentle cask influence that adds complexity without overwhelming the distillery's character. Tasting notes run to toasted malt, cinnamon rolls, dark chocolate, lemon zest and candied fruit, with the faintest thread of bonfire smoke through the whole.
