This is a 44 year old Glenlochy bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for its Recollection Series 3, at 53.2% ABV.
It was distilled on 13th November 1979, matured in a refill American hogshead and bottled on 19th June 2024. The outturn was 124 bottles.
The nose opens with orange oil, pressed apple and a hint of ginger, with dried mango, honeycomb and beeswax polish beneath. The palate brings pineapple, banana and lemon sherbet, then strawberry compote, vanilla fudge and pecan. The finish is full and smooth, with toasted almonds and oak.
