This is a North Port single malt from Gordon & MacPhail's Recollection Series 3, matured for 42 years in a refill American hogshead. It was distilled on 16 December 1981 and bottled on 19 June 2024 at 50.9% ABV, with 132 bottles filled. North Port is a distillery that has since been demolished.
Dark gold in colour, it has been described as dry and fruity.
The nose combines rich citrus, red apple and butterscotch with apricot jam, walnut and aged leather. On the palate come sweet tangerine zest, desiccated coconut and soft ginger spice, then demerara sugar and mature oak. The finish is medium-bodied and dry, with brazil nut.
