This is an eight-year-old single malt from Scapa, the Orkney distillery, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in the 1970s at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle. Scapa was built in 1885 and was the third distillery constructed on Orkney. Its then owner, Hiram Walker, licensed the single malt brand to Gordon & MacPhail to produce official releases in the 1970s and 1980s. That arrangement gave the Elgin-based firm a steady supply of casks from the distillery.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
