Grace O'Malley Blended Irish Whiskey is named for the Irish pirate queen Grainne Ní Mháille, also known as Granuaile, who was born in Co Mayo in 1530.
The blend combines several batches of whiskey aged from three to 10 years, matured in a range of barrel types including French oak. Grain whiskey is aged in ex-bourbon casks and malt whiskey in ex-rum barrels.
The nose offers caramel, bourbon vanilla, malty notes, dry almond, orange peel and honey. The palate is smooth and balanced, with round tannins and fruit overtones. The finish brings Middle Eastern pastry, sweet spice and toasted notes.
