This is an 8 year old Speyside single malt from Knockdhu, bottled by GreatDrams in its Single Cask Series at 48.2% ABV in a 50cl bottle. It was distilled in April 2013 and matured entirely in a single first fill oloroso sherry hogshead before bottling in October 2021. It is natural colour and without chill filtration, and the outturn is 243 bottles.
Raisins, orange peel, fig jam and dark toffee lead the nose, with cinnamon and clove developing. The palate brings treacle, walnut cake and dark caramel, with a little coffee bitterness. The finish is medium to long and gently drying, with dark chocolate and sweet spice.
