Green River Army 250th Anniversary Release is the official licensed commemorative bourbon for the U.S. Army's 250th anniversary, made by Green River Distilling Co. of Owensboro, Kentucky. It is a Kentucky straight bourbon on a mash bill of 75% corn, 15% rye and 10% malted barley. The age statement is four years, drawn from a small batch of barrels aged between four and seven years. It is bottled at 111.1 proof, 55.55% ABV, a nod to Veterans Day on 11/11, and is non-chill-filtered. A portion of proceeds supports Army MWR programmes for military families. Tasting notes describe cinnamon, dried cherry and light leather on the nose, with warming spice, vanilla and caramel on the palate.
