Its mash bill is corn-forward, with wheat in place of rye as the secondary grain, which brings a gentler spice and a creamier texture. It is matured in new charred American oak. Green River is a bourbon brand with Kentucky roots dating back to the 19th century. The nose has caramelised sugar, toasted oak and vanilla bean, with baked apple, stone fruit and a little cinnamon and clove. The palate is broad and chewy, with rich caramel, honeyed grain and buttery softness, and peppery warmth from the high strength. The finish is long and warming, with lingering spice-driven sweetness.
