Green Spot Chateau Leoville Barton is a single pot still Irish whiskey, triple distilled at Midleton Distillery in County Cork and made for Mitchell & Son. It was the first release in their Wine Geese series, and is bottled at 46% in a 75cl bottle without chill filtration.
The whisky was first matured in ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, then finished for 12 to 24 months in French oak wine casks from Chateau Leoville Barton in Saint-Julien, Bordeaux.
The nose has crisp woodland notes, floral perfume, and raspberry and strawberry over orchard fruit. The palate is mouth-coating, with oak, spice, vanilla sweetness and a dry wine influence. The finish is rich, with French oak slow to fade.
