Green Spot Midleton is a single pot still Irish whiskey, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It was first made for the Mitchells, a family in the fine food trade since 1805, and the business is still run by Jonathan Mitchell and his son Robert.
It carries no age statement and matures in a mix of new bourbon, refill bourbon and sherry casks. It has no added colouring and is not chill-filtered.
Fresh aromatic oils, spice and juicy orchard fruit are noted on the nose, with a trace of toasted wood. Green apples and cloves follow, with the warmth of toasted oak, alongside barley and spice.
