Green Spot is a single pot still Irish whiskey from Midleton Distillery in County Cork, in a 750ml bottle. It is distilled in pot stills from a mash of malted and unmalted barley.
The whiskey is made from casks aged between about 7 and 10 years, all of them used bourbon and sherry casks. It is bottled at 40% ABV.
The nose has green apple peel, pear, soft vanilla, honeyed barley and a touch of clove. The palate is smooth and fairly creamy, with brown sugar, ripe orchard fruit, toasted oak and gentle pepper. The finish is of medium length, with warm vanilla, soft oak tannin and a mild herbal trace.
