This is an 8 year old single malt whiskey from H. Deringer, bottled at cask strength in a 75cl bottle. It comes from Indiana.
The nose is malted barley and wildflower honey, with dried apricot, light caramel, molasses, toffee and a subtle dryness of tea leaf. The palate is smooth and well rounded, opening with honeyed malt and stone fruit. Toffee, caramel and molasses build mid-palate, and light black tea adds a slightly tannic edge.
The finish is long, with lingering malt sweetness, soft fruit preserves and toasted grains.
