Hakushu – 12 Year Old 100th Anniversary Edition (70cl, 43%)

This is a 12-year-old Japanese single malt from Hakushu, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It marks the 100 years of whisky-making by the distillery's parent company, Suntory. The whisky was aged in various cask types and blended to capture the character of the distillery. Its peat is very subtle, showing as green, herbaceous and gently smoked notes. The nose has basil, pine needle and green apple. The palate brings sweet pear, mint and kiwi, and the finish is green tea with a little smoke.
