Hakushu – 12 Year Old Japanese Whisky 100th Anniversary Edition (75cl, 43%)

Hakushu 12 Year Old 100th Anniversary Edition is a Japanese single malt, aged for a minimum of 12 years and bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The whisky is the regular Hakushu 12, in a centenary label that marks 100 years of Suntory whisky-making and shows the distillery in soft green. Hakushu stands in Yamanashi Prefecture, in the Southern Japanese Alps. The malt is gently peated, drawn from lightly and heavily peated malts matured in various cask types. The tasting notes describe a fresh, herbaceous nose of basil, pine needle, green apple and toasted barley. The palate is clean, with sweet pear, mint, kiwi and a little smoke, and the finish is long with green tea, subtle smoke and some sweetness.
