A single malt from Suntory's Hakushu Distillery in the Japanese Alps, aged for 18 years and made with peat. This is the 2024 Tsukuriwake Edition, a limited release.
It is described as pairing the distillery's green, herbal character with a layer of peat smoke.
The nose shows green apple, mint and subtle citrus with delicate peat smoke. The palate offers honeyed sweetness, toasted oak and fresh herbs, with pear and spice. The finish is long, smooth and smoky, with a mineral edge.
