Hancock's Single Barrel Reserve is a Kentucky sour mash bourbon, bottled at 44.45% ABV (88.9 proof) in a 75cl bottle. It was produced by Ancient Age / Buffalo Trace using high-rye Mash Bill #2, and was aimed mainly at export markets such as Japan during the 1990s and early 2000s.
This early presentation has a fluted glass base, a cork stopper and a matching wooden tube.
The nose offers mango, papaya, honeyed vanilla and soft oak. Honey, sweet corn, butterscotch and warm rye spices run through a silky palate, with a trace of clover and light leather. The finish is smooth and warm, with citrus peel, soft nutmeg and dried oak tannin.
