Hanyu – 1988/2006 King of Diamonds, Ichiro's Malt (70cl, 56%)

This is a single cask Hanyu single malt, the King of Diamonds in the Ichiro's Malt Card series. It was distilled in 1988, bottled in 2006 at 56% ABV, and comes in a 70cl bottle. The whisky matured first in a hogshead and was then finished in an American oak sherry butt. Cask 9003 produced 555 bottles. The Card series was created by Ichiro Akuto of Venture Whisky, who acquired the remaining Hanyu casks after the distillery stopped production in 2000. It runs to 58 releases, each with a playing card label.
