Hanyu – Genesis (70cl, 51%)

Hanyu Genesis is the first single malt released by the new Hanyu Distillery, built by Toa Shuzo on the original pot still blueprints and completed in 2021. It is bottled at 51% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky is a blend of peated and non-peated malts, aged for three years (38 months) in first-fill bourbon barrels. A pronounced peat aroma grows stronger as you drink, while the mouthfeel stays smooth and light for the strength. The name marks the distillery's 2021 reopening, and the release is limited to 2,021 individually numbered bottles.
