Hard Truth Sweet Mash Barrel Strength Straight Rye

This is a barrel strength straight rye from Hard Truth Distilling Co. in Nashville, Indiana. It is made as a sweet mash whiskey, so each batch starts from a fresh mixture of grains, water and yeast, with no previously fermented mash added. The distillery began in 2015 as a small project run by a group of entrepreneurs who owned a pizza restaurant. Construction of a new site on a 325-acre property about a mile from the original began in 2017, and distilling of the sweet mash whiskey took place there from 2018.
