Hard Truth – Sweet Mash Rye Whiskey 113 Proof (75cl, 56.5%)

Hard Truth Sweet Mash Rye is a rye whiskey from the Brown County distillery in Indiana, bottled at 56.5% ABV (113 proof) in a 750ml bottle. It is uncut and unfiltered. Every batch is sweet-mashed, meaning it is fermented from entirely fresh ingredients with no backset. It was the first whiskey fully mashed, fermented, distilled and aged on the distillery's 325-acre campus. The mash bill is 94% rye and 6% malted barley, aged for a minimum of two years in new charred 53-gallon American white oak. The nose is bright mocha, nutmeg and ripe orchard fruit. The palate brings rich toffee, brown sugar and peach, and the finish is smooth and lingering, with chocolate, oak and pepper.
