This is an 11 year old Kentucky straight bourbon from the Hardin's Creek Rickhouse Series, bottled at 55% ABV and not chill-filtered. It was distilled and aged at the James B. Beam facilities in Clermont, Kentucky.
The whiskey spent all 11 years in new American white-oak barrels on the fifth floor of Warehouse W, which is what the 5FL in its name refers to.
The nose offers toasted oak, dark caramel, maple syrup and a little red apple, with nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla. The palate is full-bodied, with caramel corn, candied pecan, toffee, clove, dark chocolate and black pepper. The finish is long and warming, with charred oak, coffee bean, dry tobacco leaf and gentle smoke.
