Hatozaki Small Batch is a Japanese blend of malt whiskies, each aged for at least 12 years in American oak. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
After blending, the whisky spent a further six months in custom-made casks that previously held Umeshu, the Japanese plum liqueur. These casks have given a long, sweet finish. Hatozaki is named after the oldest stone lighthouse in Japan.
It is unpeated, delicate and floral. On the palate there are notes of grain, iodine, fresh pears, apricots and honey.
