Hayashi is a 24 year old Ryukyu whisky from Okinawa, made by a producer that draws on the island's long tradition of distilling awamori. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 700ml bottle.
The nose is gentle, with crème caramel, baked peach, dried grass, stewed fruit and candied peel. The palate is clean and light in texture, with watermelon, dragon fruit, citrus peel, red apple and warm spice, along with pepper, clove and red currant.
The finish brings mixed peel and spicy mincemeat.
