Hayashi 24 Year Ryukyu is a Japanese single grain whisky from Okinawa, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is made from 100% Japanese indica rice fermented with black koji, the method behind awamori, the Ryukyu spirit with a history of around 500 years.
The whisky matured for 24 years in charred bourbon barrels in Okinawa's warm, humid island climate, and no caramel colour is added.
In the tasting notes, dark chocolate and vanilla sit alongside dried fruit and oak, followed by a smooth, lasting finish.
