Hazelburn 15 Year Old is a Campbeltown single malt released for the Open Day in May 2022 and bottled that year at 57.2% ABV in a 20cl bottle. It was matured in refill Marsala and bourbon hogsheads and filled to 9,000 bottles. Hazelburn is made at Springbank, one of the last fully self-contained distilleries in Campbeltown.
The nose has sweet wine notes from the Marsala casks and creamy vanilla from the bourbon wood. The palate brings dried fruits and spice with gentle sweetness, and the finish is long, with oak and a hint of caramel.
