Heaven's Door Bootleg Vol. 6 is a cask-strength wheated bourbon from the whiskey brand co-founded by Bob Dylan, bottled at 60.6% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is an annual limited release.
It blends wheated bourbons aged 12, 13 and 14 years, finished in tall Limousin oak 'cigar barrels' made from air-dried rather than kiln-dried wood. The whiskey is not chill-filtered.
The nose is sharp and wine-like, with citrus, cherry, light tropical fruit and tobacco leaf. The palate is rich and full, with tobacco, caramelised sugar, dried apricot, nutmeg and vanilla. The finish is long and warming, with baking spices, toasted oak, dark chocolate and a little smoke.
