Homesick Blues is a cask-strength wheated bourbon from Heaven's Door, aged for seven years in Minnesota and bottled at 61.4% ABV (122.7 proof).
The mash bill is 70% corn and 30% wheat. It was aged through hot Minnesota summers and subzero winters, about 150 miles from Bob Dylan's birthplace.
The nose brings honey, caramel, toasted wheat bread, vanilla and dried fruit, with some oak and nutmeg. The palate is velvety, with baking spices, honey, vanilla, peanut, light leather and white pepper. The finish is warm and lingering, with oak, leather, cinnamon-raisin spice and dried nuts.
