Revelation is a blended American whiskey from Heaven's Door, the Tennessee whiskey venture co-founded by Bob Dylan. It is bottled at 50% (100 proof).
The blend combines two Tennessee whiskeys with traditional bourbon mashbills and a straight rye, each aged for at least six years. It is then moved into custom heavy-charred French oak barrels from Tonnellerie Radoux for a finishing period of up to twelve months. The whiskeys are also mellowed through maple charcoal.
The nose is maple, milled grain, dried berries and vanilla custard. The palate brings toasted caramel, dark cherry, Meyer lemon, dry oak and clove-led spice. The finish is long and spicy, with roasted walnuts, oatmeal cookies and a lasting spearmint freshness.
