Heaven's Door Straight Rye is a straight rye whiskey from the Bob Dylan-backed brand, bottled at 46% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It was one of the brand's three inaugural expressions, launched in 2018.
The whiskey was distilled in Indiana from a mash of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, and aged in new charred American oak. It is then finished in toasted oak cigar barrels, made from French oak air-dried in the Vosges region.
The producer's notes describe orange peel, coriander and spice. Other tasters found clove, black pepper, cinnamon and lemon peel over coconut, chamomile and cedar.
