This is a 15 year old Kentucky straight bourbon from Heaven's Door, the whiskey brand founded by Bob Dylan, released as part of its 2020 Bootleg Series. It was finished in Jamaican rum casks and bottled at cask strength, 52.3% ABV, unfiltered, in a 75cl bottle.
The rum finish is said to bring tropical fruit, molasses and a little rum funk to the aged bourbon.
On the nose there is caramel, vanilla and toasted oak, alongside tropical fruit and molasses. The palate offers dark caramel, dried tropical fruit and baking spice, with a gradual cask-strength warmth. The finish is long and sweet, fading into oak spice.
