This is Hedges & Butler 12 Year Old Royal Whisky De Luxe, a blended whisky from the 1990s, in a 70cl bottle at 40%. The brand owners describe the blends as containing a high proportion of malt and grain whiskies from more than 15 distilleries, with every component aged five years or more.
Hedges & Butler was established in London in 1667 by Edmund Harris as a wine and spirits merchant. George IV granted it a Royal Warrant in 1830, and it began making its own blended Scotch whiskies before the Second World War. Ian Macleod Distillers has owned the brand name since 1998.
