Henry Deringer 8 Year Old is an American single malt made from 100% malted barley, bottled from a single barrel at cask strength. It comes in a 75cl bottle at 61% ABV.
It is bottled by the independent World Whiskey Society as part of its Western Collection, and named for the Philadelphia gunsmith who designed the original cap-lock pocket pistol in 1825.
The nose is malted barley and wildflower honey with dried apricot, caramel, molasses and toffee. The palate is honeyed malt and stone fruit, moving into toffee and light black tea. The finish is long and warm, with malt sweetness, fruit preserves and toasted grains.
