A 10-year-old single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Heaven Hill in Bardstown, bottled at 50% in a 750ml bottle under the Bottled-in-Bond designation.
The mashbill is 78% corn, 12% malted barley and 10% rye, and the bourbon is aged in new charred American oak barrels. Each bottle comes from a single barrel, so some variation from one barrel to the next is to be expected.
Tasting notes describe vanilla, caramel and toasted oak on the nose, a honeyed, full-bodied palate with cinnamon and black pepper, and a long finish of honey and gentle pepper.
