This is an 8 year old Glenturret bottled by Hepburn's Choice, the Hunter Laing label, at 45.8% ABV. Glenturret is described as the oldest distillery still working in Scotland.
Maturation in sherry casks brings apricot fruit alongside the peat that gives this bottling its name.
The nose is fruity, with banana and dried fruit, then chocolate and vanilla with touches of ash and peat. On the palate the peat is present at once and smoky, followed by apricot, honey and herbal notes. The finish is slightly saline.
