Hibiki 12 Year Old is a Japanese blended whisky from Suntory, released in 2026 as a travel retail edition. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle and brings back a 12 year old expression that was discontinued in 2015.
The blend combines malt whisky from the Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries with grain whisky from Chita. It draws on American oak, Spanish oak and Mizunara oak casks, and was re-imagined by Shinji Fukuyo, the fifth Chief Blender.
The nose brings sandalwood, pear, apple, honey and orange peel, with vanilla and light oak behind. The palate is softly sweet, with dried fruit, honey and warm spice. The finish is of medium length, with quiet Mizunara wood and a faint sweetness.
