Hibiki 21 Year Old Hiroshi Senju Limited Edition (70cl, 43%)

This is a limited edition of Hibiki 21 Year Old, a Japanese blended whisky from Suntory made from malt and grain whiskies aged in Mizunara oak. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The packaging carries original artwork by the Nihonga painter Hiroshi Senju, his Waterfall on Colours "Hibiki", painted with natural mineral pigments and ground oyster shells in ten shades of purple. The whisky is a rich amber. The nose has cooked fruit, blackberry, ripe banana and caramel. The palate brings dried apricot, honeycomb and fragrant sandalwood, leading to a long finish of incense, subtle oak spice and Mizunara warmth.
