This is a 21 year old Hibiki from Japan, the Mount Fuji 'Kacho Fugetsu' edition from 2015. It was a travel retail exclusive, limited to 2,000 bottles, and is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The label celebrates Japanese nature, with Mt. Fuji in the background and plum, pine and bamboo in the foreground, traditional symbols of happiness and good fortune.
The nose combines honeyed fruit, soft floral notes, sandalwood and gentle oak. The palate is silky, with dried fruit, dark sweetness, subtle spice and wood. The finish is long, with lingering sweetness and oak.
