Hibiki 40 Years Old is a Japanese blended whisky from The House of Suntory, made from five whiskies drawn from Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita. They were distilled between 1978 and 1983 and matured in Mizunara, Spanish and American oak casks. Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo shaped the blend.
It comes in a 70cl bottle: a 30-faceted crystal bottle made by Kagami Crystal, decorated with maki-e, mother-of-pearl inlay and gold lacquer. The outer box is made of 12 varieties of Japanese wood and has 12 faces.
