Hibiki Japanese Harmony 30th Anniversary Limited Edition (75cl, 43%)

This is a Japanese blended whisky released in the US on 1 October 2018 to mark thirty years of the Hibiki brand. The whisky inside is the standard Japanese Harmony blend with no age statement, bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle. The blend combines malt whiskies from Yamazaki and Hakushu with grain whisky from Chita, drawn from five cask styles that include American white oak, sherry and Mizunara. What sets the edition apart is the 24-faceted bottle, dressed in a kimono pattern with a tabane-noshi motif. Amber in colour, it is described as rose, lychee, rosemary and sandalwood on the nose, then honey-like sweetness, candied orange peel and white chocolate, with a long, tender finish and a hint of Mizunara.
