Hidden Spirits Ledaig 2009 12 Year Old (70cl, 54.2%)

This is a 12-year-old Ledaig distilled in 2009 and bottled by Hidden Spirits. It is a peated single malt at 54.2% abv in a 70cl bottle. The nose is concentrated and herbal, with white mint and straw alongside ash and soot, lemon zest, camphor, ginger root and a touch of diesel. It later becomes more like lime tart, with floral, green tea and mirabelle plum notes. The palate is lively and mineral, with chalk, slate, pear and acacia honey, then menthol, aniseed and liquorice, and a smoky, tarry close. The finish is long, with wildflowers over peat, bacon, leather, samphire and seaweed.
