High N' Wicked Straight Rye is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey at 49.1% ABV (98.2 proof) in a 75cl bottle, aged five years in new, medium-toast #4-char American white oak barrels. It was distilled at New Riff Distilling in Newport, Kentucky, from a mash bill of 91% rye and 9% malted barley, using a three-day open-top sour mash fermentation and an all-copper distillation path.
It is bottled without chill filtration. The brand settled on the strength after testing with bartenders and industry professionals.
The nose is caramelised apples and peaches, dark cherries and orange peel, with baking spices of cinnamon, clove and allspice. The palate is full and layered, with cracked black pepper, dark cocoa, white pepper and a touch of dill. The finish of apple, peach, dark cocoa and nutmeg is clean and lingering.
