High Plains Rye Whiskey (75cl, 48.5%)

High Plains Rye is an American rye whiskey in a 75cl bottle at 48.5% ABV, made by J.W. Rutledge Distillery, the blending project of Jim Rutledge, formerly master distiller at Four Roses. It blends five straight rye whiskeys from distilleries in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and New York. Each has its own mash bill, ranging from 51% to 100% rye, and its own yeast strain, and every component is at least four years old. This is the 2021 release. The nose is described as rye bread, baking spices and toasted oak. The palate brings allspice, nutmeg, white pepper, cinnamon, brown sugar and butterscotch, and the finish is gentle and dry with cloves.
