High West A Midwinter Night's Dram Act 14 is the 14th annual winter release from High West, bottled at 49.3% in a 75cl bottle. It marks 20 years of the distillery in Park City, Utah, which was founded in 2006. Each Act is bottled once and not repeated.
It is built on Rendezvous Rye, a blend of straight rye whiskeys aged 4 to 10 years. The finish uses Ruby and Tawny port barrels together with Amontillado, Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, the first sherry casks used in this series.
The nose offers fig, raisin and plum over baking spice, cinnamon and mint. The palate has walnut and toffee with savoury rye spice, and the finish is long and warming, with a peppery edge.
Tasting Notes
Fig, raisin and plum over baking spice, cinnamon and a cool thread of mint
Walnut and toffee with savoury rye spice, port and sherry influence throughout
Long and warming, dried-fruit sweetness against a savoury, peppery edge
